Grandpa's Hands
By "Aunt" Carol Anderson
You can tell a lot about a man by looking at his hands. Some of the things they've been through God only understands. They've held each child and grandchild with tender loving care. They've been folded softly in quiet humble prayer. These hands have caught a lot of fish, They've tied a lot of flies. Spending time with family brought a twinkle to his eyes. They have cheered at lots of ball games, Rodeos and fairs. If the grandkids were involved you can bet he would be there. I hope my hands have learned enough to help me pass the test, I only know they learned a lot by working with the best.

"Grandpa" Leland Sharon Anderson
October 5, 1930 - April 6, 2009
Our loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother, and Friend, Leland Sharon Anderson passed away Monday April 6, 2009 after a valiant fight with Parkinsons. He was born October 5, 1930 in Bear River City, Utah to Christian Hald and Mildred Mae Anderson. He married Karen Bennett on March 19, 1955 in Tremonton, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan Temple on February 3, 1956. Leland was an active member of the LDS church. His first love was the scouting program. He was also a devoted Home Teacher. He graduated from Bear River High School. He served in the Air Force from 1950-1954. He also attended Weber State and BYU. Leland worked at Boeing Aircraft and retired from Thiokol after 34 years. He owned and operated a TV repair business and later operated Green Acres Nursery with his wife. Leland had a great love for the outdoors. He would spend winters tying flies to be used with his family in the Uintahs and Island Park. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Leland is survived by his loving wife Karen, caring children and spouses: Debbie (Steve) Morris, Kipp, Kraig (Carol), Vickie (Dick) Thompson, Karen Lee (Joseph) Faust, 24 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren with two more on the way. He is also survived by his siblings: Ronald (Loris), ReNee Hansen, Wayne (Paula), Glade (Donna) and Suzanne (Errol) Bowcutt. He was preceded in death by his parents Christian Hald Anderson and Mildred Mae Anderson, and his son Kipp Anderson.

A story that I loved hearing my Uncle Kraig share:
At the care center, Grandpa said to my cousin Travis-"Do you know what makes my day? ... Seing your Grandma walk through that door everyday."
This is such a beautiful love song. It is one of my Grandpa & Grandma's favorites. It is originally from a movie called, Dr. Zhivago. At the funeral services my 3 cousins (Brady, Travis & David) Sang this song so perfectly.
*Listen to it by just pressing play. But first you will want to scroll to the very bottom of the blog to pause my "play list".
*This is my favorite verse of all.
It just fits the moment for the 2 of them so well:
"Some day we we will meet again my love. You'll come to me, out of the long ago. Till then my sweet, think of me now and then. God speed my love, until you are mine again."
