Broken Ankle

3 weeks ago Lathan went snowmobiling in Logan Canyon-Franklin Basin. After snowmobiling 7 hours and riding back to the truck…(Going 60 miles an hour) he happened to run into a empty river. (This river filled is probably about 8 feet deep.) He was only 5 miles away from being home bound!

Ladies, beware of what you say to your husband before he takes off on these trips with “the boys.” I take partial blame for this because before he left I said to him, “Make sure you don’t wreck/total the snowmobile today…remember we haven’t given the new insurance company your vin number to the snowmobile.” So of course the sled came out with out a scratch on it, and Lathan came home with a casted broken ankle & crutches!! The doctor told him that it will take 4-6 weeks to recover. And he can’t be released to go back to work until he is 100% better.

If you know my husband, you know that he doesn’t like to sit still for very long before going stir crazy. So these past few weeks have been driving him absolutely bonkers. This past week he said to me, “you know that scene off of Forest Gump where he starts running and the metal just starts flying off his legs? I wish I could just take off running and this cast would fly of my leg and I would be healed!” Oh heavens. Anyways, Lathan decided this past week that he couldn’t handle it anymore. So he strapped on an ankle brace and slipped on his regular everyday shoes.

He was happier than a tornado in a trailer park.
