Yellowstone & Island Park Trip

We just got back from Island Park this Sunday. We had a lot of fun! But of course what would a "Thompson Vacation" be like with out a little kraziness thown in? :)
As we were unpacking the truck on Wednesday I started to notice "droppings" from what I thought could have been from a mouse. After cleaning it up I then started putting some of our bathroom items away...when I found all our toilet paper had been hacked in to, destroyed and much of it was missing! Mean while, Lathan was setting things up outside and found pine cones and mushrooms in our storage compartments. As the night went on we decided to rest and watch a movie...when we opened the drawer where the remote was, we found where all of the toilet paper had gone too!!

It must have been a dang squirrel or chipmunk!!

I was worried that when Lathan pulled the drawer out the chipmunk was going to fly out of it running wild like one of the scenes in "Christmas Vacation!"
Lathan searched EVERYWHERE trying to find where that damn chipmunk was getting in and we never found it!!

The whole weekend we did TONS of 4-wheeling!
Cooper LOVES to go for rides. After a while it soothes him so much that it puts him to sleep!

Friday we took some time and went in to Yellowstone to see Old Faithful.

Here is a picture of Coop during our scenic drive through the park.

I couldn't really get any pictures of the animals we saw. Most of them were to far away for the camera that I had brought. But of course you can always catch a buffalo.
We also saw a huge bald eagle, elk, coyote & some deer. (No bears or moose. :( )

On Saturday Lathan found a trail that took us 10 miles over to Big Springs to feed the ducks.

I love being able to spend time in Island Park. We had a great time!

That's funny about the chimpmunk or whatever that was stealing your TP. Is Lathan feeling okay after he got in a fight with the post hole pounder?
